During the 1970s, Seiko manufactured a wide variety of chronographs, these watches have become very sought after by today’s collectors due to their funky designs, of-the-era large steel cases, and affordability. The model we have here is known as the UFO for obvious reasons and offers a classic funky dial layout with day-date. For under 1k, you cannot do much better than this in the vintage chronograph department.

Case: 43.5mm wide excluding crown, 47mm tall, 15mm thick, all stainless steel, original pushers/ crown, screw-down case back, outer tachymeter bezel, original raised crystal, serial 103xxx ‘1971
Movement: Seiko cal. 6138, automatic, recently serviced
Bracelet/ Strap: Aftermarket Uncle Seiko linked steel bracelet, 19mm lug width (any item from our Accessories Shop)
Features: Up-down dial, white pointed baton handset, tritium lume, baton hour markers, day-date window, outer tachymeter scale, 12-hour counting chronograph w/ 30-minute intervals, screw-down case back, applied logo, circa 1971
Box & Papers: No
Condition: In excellent all original condition. The dial is very good with a nice patina on the sub-dials and cream matching tritium lume. The case is great which is very important with these models. There are no major scratches or dents and the original brushed/ beveled finish can still be seen. No signs of any overpolishing in the past. The movement has been serviced and keeps excellent time to within 10 seconds per day with smooth chronograph operation.
